How we protect your personal data
Protecting your privacy when processing personal data is important to us. These principles explain how we handle personal data in the necessary scope, securely and professionally.
Our approach is based on Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the GDPR) and the relevant provisions of Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection, as amended.
Addie respects and protects the personal data of people with whom it comes into contact. This document explains what we collect, why we process it, who may receive it, what rights you have and how to contact us. We will publish material changes on this website, so please review the current version from time to time.
What personal data is and why we process it
Under the GDPR, personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. A person may be identifiable directly or indirectly, including through a name, identification number, location data, an online identifier, or characteristics of their physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.
We process personal data only to the extent necessary for a specific purpose defined before the data is collected, where that legitimate purpose could not otherwise be achieved.
Purposes of processing personal data
We collect personal data for specific, predefined purposes connected with the services we provide. These may include:
- Providing our services: data needed to negotiate, conclude and perform contracts such as copyright, performance or work contracts. If required contractual data is not provided, the contract may not be performed.
- Invoicing: issuing invoices and receiving or recording payments and receivables where processing is required by law.
- Communication: responding to enquiries and communicating about our cooperation.
- Direct marketing: where a valid legal basis or consent exists.
- Events: sending invitations, confirming attendance and arranging accommodation when requested.
- Competitions: administering prize competitions in which you participate.
- Recruitment: running recruitment campaigns and assessing candidates.
- Partner obligations: other purposes arising from our contracts with partners, where legally permitted.
How long we retain personal data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary and for periods required by applicable law. The exact period depends on the purpose of processing.
Data processed to perform a contract is retained for the duration of the contract and, after it ends, until relevant limitation periods expire; otherwise it may be retained for up to 15 years after the contractual relationship ends. If a claim or proceeding is pending, necessary data may be retained until the matter and related enforcement periods are finally resolved.
Where processing is based on consent, we process the data until consent is withdrawn. This also applies to personal data used for consent-based marketing or cookies.
Security
We handle personal data in accordance with applicable law, including the GDPR and Slovak data protection legislation, and apply appropriate technical, organisational, security and personnel measures.
Electronic data is kept in systems designed to protect it from damage, destruction, loss and misuse. Access is restricted to people who need the data for the relevant processing purpose. We review and improve our safeguards regularly.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the applicable conditions, you have the following rights:
- Access: to ask whether we process your personal data and obtain access and a copy. A reasonable administrative fee may apply to additional copies.
- Rectification: to have inaccurate data corrected without undue delay and incomplete data completed.
- Erasure: to request deletion where data is no longer needed, consent has been withdrawn, a valid objection applies, or processing is otherwise unlawful. Legal exceptions may apply.
- Restriction: to request restricted processing while accuracy is checked, where processing is unlawful but you oppose erasure, or where you need the data for legal claims. We will inform you before a restriction is lifted.
- Portability: for eligible automated processing, to receive data you provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and ask for transfer to another controller. Transfer does not automatically erase data from our systems.
- Objection: to object at any time, on grounds relating to your situation, to processing based on the relevant legal grounds.
- Withdrawal of consent: to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out lawfully before withdrawal.
- Complaint: to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Odborárske námestie 3, 817 60 Bratislava 15, Slovak Republic.
You can exercise these rights by emailing info@addie.sk.
